Featured Photographer: Alicia Carlton

Hey Everyone I'm finally updating again...been super busy, but today is my last day of school before summer, so I'm going to be spending lots of time updating and making new and amazing things for you to drool at. Right now I'm still working on my 2 artist collaborations, as well as the flying machines and planet and stars themed pieces. I'm extremely excited to get those done, but I want them to be extra special. Get ready for some awesomeness.

I really want to do a features on any artists I work and also just people I think are really talented and one of these people is Alicia of Alicia C Photography. She's a young photographer who I discovered somewhere...I can't remember where, but when I saw it I needed to have her photograph my makeup and jewelry. So I contacted her and she did not disappoint. You can see her other works here: www.myspace.com/aliciacphotography . She has a very unique but versatile style and whenever I see something new she's done I'm always impressed.
Here are some of the photos she did for me. Enjoy!

Featured Model: Nina the Terror

Well everyone knows I love crazy hair colors just by looking at my models. I myself have had pretty much every hair color you can think of, but pink was always my favorite. For a long time I didn't feel right unless I had some pink in my hair. But now I've gone back to all blonde. Enough about me, I have a brand new model for http://www.pinupsodapop.com/

Her name is Nina Dateshidze aka Nina The Terror. And she is a UK alternative model. I think she is just gorgeous and she has the most beautiful hot pink hair!

I sent her some "Only Human" necklaces which are available on my website. As well as some new pieces that will be available very soon, such as hair accessories (look at the butterfly flower headband shes wearing! cant wait to put those up!! will be available in lots of colors!). She also is wearing some sparkle key earrings and sparkle feather earrings that will also be available for purchase soon. I have lots of work to do to get all my projects done, so it might take some time. But sneak previews are always nice aren't they?
Anyway here she is!

The first 4 photos are by Keith West of Prettier in Real Life Photography and the last photo is by Mick Payton.
Hope you enjoy!! And be sure to check her out: Nina The Terror UK Alternative Model

In The Works: Flying Machines

So I'm sure the first person who thought it would be possible for a human to fly was thought to be insane, and those are the kinda people we gotta love. Once I finish up my artist collaborations, my newest collection is going to be all flying machines, whether they actually flew or not doesn't really matter. Its the idea behind it. So the jewelry will be inspired by Da Vinci's drawings, some of the first airplanes ever, and very old hot air balloons. Lately I've had a fascination with all three of these things. I've never been in a hot air balloon, so I think I'll have to add that to my list of things to do.

DaVinci sketch:

That crazy man everyones talking about:This is a sketch..its a sketch. (sorry had to do my demetri martin lol"wright brothers flying machine:

Also an inspiration: my favorite music video ever...Tonight Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins..check out their flying machine...<33 align="center">

Featured Shop: Armours and Anguish

First Post: Artist Collaborations new and old

Being that I'm an artist with lots to share, I decided to create a blog dedicated to my art and other art that inspires me. I want to share artists, models, and photographers that I have discovered just through having "jewelry designer" as part of my life description. I'd say job description, but I don't feel like its really a job, because its something I love.

Some of them I also just find out of curiosity, but I have met and gotten to know a large number of people through my jewelry. It's an outlet where I can express myself and share the things I like with people who have the same interests.

I also think it would be fun to get people excited about the new ideas I have and new jewelry and accessories that will be available before its on my website. So get ready to see some fabulous artists you may never have known before, get to know some very awesome models who wear the greatest jewelry line ever (pinupsodapopjewelry by dani of course!!), and get a sneak peak at all the goodies http://www.pinupsodapop.com/ will have to offer.

So enough of that, I'm hear to excite you with some great news. I have 2 new artist collaborations that will be coming to http://www.pinupsodapop.com/ very soon!!

One of these artists is: Cari Ann Wayman also known as yyellowbird on flickr. I'm a huge huge fan of her work, so I'm really excited about this one.

and the other one is a young new artist who has actually done some work inspired my jewelry. she has a very unique look and uses lots of color which is fabulous.

Chelsea Anne

Here's a list of the past artists I've worked with along with one of the necklaces I made featuring their work. You can also click their name to see their website and get to see a little bit more about what they do. Some of these pieces are still available for purchase here: http://www.pinupsodapop.com/collaborations

Adrian Amiro :

(she also makes wonderful wonderful jewelry found here: shalott lilly fashion couture

Natalie J Watts:

Melissa Modlinski:

Jessica Russo:

Katelan V Foisy:

Katie Owens aka epidemic:Jazz Gutier

and last but not least, mr dear friend evelyn black..

here she is wearing her "mi dulce vida loca necklace" on the left next to the infamous audrey kitching...who for some reason I still haven't been able to convince her to model for me yet.

these can be purchased on her fabulous website: http://www.evelynblack1955.com/MDVL.html

anyway i hope this first blog has struck your interest a bit and even if you don't feel the need to buy an artist collaboration necklace, at least you are now acquainted with some new talented artists. if you have your own blogspot, follow me on your dashboard and you won't ever miss out on anything!! I will be updating this as often as I can. & if your curious I also have a personal blog which you can feel free to check out and follow as well: http://www.danifuckinglamour.blogspot.com.

Enjoy and come back soon!
